Power the device off immediately and leave it off. Do not plug it in, do not try to charge it, and do not press the power button repeatedly to see whether it still works. Almost all catastrophic water damage happens not from the liquid itself but from current flowing through a wet board, which corrodes traces and shorts components within minutes.
Remove the SIM tray to open an air path, wipe the exterior, and keep the phone upright rather than shaking it, which drives liquid deeper. Then get it to a shop the same day if you possibly can. Corrosion is a chemical process that starts immediately and continues for as long as residue remains on the board — every hour of delay costs you.
The rice myth deserves a clear answer: it does not work. Rice absorbs almost no moisture from inside a sealed device, does nothing about the corrosive residue that is the actual problem, and mainly buys time for corrosion to spread while leaving starch dust in the ports. Skip it.
A shop that treats liquid damage seriously will open the device, disconnect the battery first, and inspect the board under magnification for the tell-tale white or green residue. The board then goes through ultrasonic cleaning in an appropriate solution to dissolve corrosion out of places a brush cannot reach, followed by drying and inspection, and often replacement of any component that has corroded beyond cleaning.
Sea water and sugary drinks are considerably worse than clean tap water — salt is aggressively conductive and sugar leaves a sticky conductive film — so say exactly what the liquid was.
Liquid damage is the one repair category where no honest shop will promise you a result. A phone cleaned within hours often recovers fully. A phone that sat in a drawer for a week, or was repeatedly powered on while wet, may be unrecoverable, or may work for a fortnight and then fail as corrosion continues under a component. A good technician will tell you this before taking your money, and will usually quote a diagnostic fee separately from the repair.
If the device holds data you cannot lose, say so at the counter. Data recovery is a different priority from making the phone work again, and it changes the order in which a technician approaches the board.

How to read these listings. PhonePuncakAlam is an independent directory. We publish only the details we could confirm from a shop’s own website, its official social page, or a mapping service — if a field is missing, it means we could not verify it, not that the shop lacks it. We are not an agent for any shop and we do not take a cut of any repair. Prices, turnaround times, parts grade and warranty terms are set by each shop, so please confirm them directly before you hand over your device.

No. Rice does not meaningfully draw moisture out of a sealed device and does nothing about the corrosion that actually kills the board. The useful actions are: power it off, do not charge it, and get it professionally cleaned as soon as possible.
Yes, if it was more than a splash. Corrosion continues silently on the board and phones commonly fail days or weeks after the event. A cleaning while it still works is far cheaper than a board repair after it stops.
Water resistance ratings are tested on new devices in clean, still water, and the seals degrade with age, drops and previous repairs. Treat the rating as protection against accidents, not permission to swim. Chlorinated and salt water are both harder on a device than fresh water.
It varies more than any other repair, because the work required is only known once the board is open and inspected. Expect a diagnostic step first, with the repair quoted separately after. Any shop quoting a firm price sight-unseen is guessing.
